Officials push safe gun storage after Nashville shooting leaves 6-year-old ‘extremely critical’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro police are investigating an accidental shooting inside a home that left a 6-year-old boy with what authorities described as “extremely critical” injuries Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred along Qualynn Drive and has renewed calls from health officials and law enforcement for safe firearm storage.

According to an affidavit, medical staff advised the child’s injury is “unsurvivable” and that he is expected to succumb to his wounds within the next 12 to 24 hours…
