Gov. Evers announces $1.5 million in job training grants, several going to Milwaukee-area employers

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) — Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development announced more than $1.5 million in Fast Forward grants to 19 employers across the state to train over 700 workers for in-demand jobs in construction, child care, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation.

The news came in a Tuesday, March 31 press release from Gov. Evers.

Several grants are headed to the Milwaukee area. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee received $54,087 to train 120 child care workers in Milwaukee County. Pure Sound Vision LLC in Milwaukee County received $19,000 for audiovisual installation training, and Beyond Vision Inc., also in Milwaukee County, received $10,427 to train 38 workers who are blind or visually impaired in Lean White Belt certification…
