Man arrested for raping homeless woman in Murray, police say

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A man was arrested for the rape of a homeless woman who was looking for a place to sleep late Friday night, according to Murray Police.

Mohamed Awes Haji, 25, was arrested in Salt Lake County on one charge of rape (first-degree felony).

At around 10:20 a.m. on March 28, police received a call from a woman at a local Speedway gas station reporting that she had been sexually assaulted. She was she was homeless and that a man, later identified as Haji, had picked her up early that morning…
