Cohoes teacher investigated amid allegation of ‘inappropriate conduct’ with student

COHOES — A now-former teacher is under police investigation after being accused of engaging in “inappropriate conduct” with a student at Cohoes High School, school and law enforcement officials confirmed Tuesday.

In a message sent to parents Friday on the communications platform ParentSquare, Superintendent Peggy O’Shea said the teacher is no longer employed with the Cohoes City School District.

O’Shea wrote that the school administration “immediately contacted the New York State Police” after learning of the allegations. “Since that time, the district has been fully cooperating with law enforcement.”…
