MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – Officials have charged a woman for starting a fire which has so far burned more than 180 acres of woodland in western North Carolina.
According to the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, officials have determined the cause of the Jumping Branch fire in McDowell County to be the improperly discarded smoking materials.
