Wanda Smith announces candidacy for City of Clarksville mayor

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Lifelong Clarksville resident and current City Council member Wanda Smith has announced her candidacy for city mayor.

“Clarksville is growing rapidly, and this is a defining moment for our city,” Smith said. “We need experienced, people-centered leadership that understands our community and is prepared to manage that growth while keeping our residents first.”

Smith, a 12-year-old member of the City Council and former mayor pro tem (four years). She served as a federal employee at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Patient Administration and is a longtime small-business owner. She has served in ministry for 35 years, leading outreach efforts that support the homeless, less fortunate families, seniors and others in need.
