SWANSEA, S.C. (WIS) – Spencer Laird’s first colon cancer diagnosis came at 26. The Swansea man was told surgery was a success. But a routine scan in late 2024 changed everything.
“I found his doctor, and when he was out of the room, I looked at his doctor and I said ‘I want a scan done,’ and was like ‘oh, he’s fine, everything’s fine,’ and I’m like, no, I want a scan done, so that’s how we found the tumors,” said CarleyAnn Laird, Spencer’s wife.
The scan found 13 tumors, one even pushing on his heart. The three largest tumors were the size of golf balls. Spencer was told he had two to three years to live…
