Newberry Dirt Biker Dies In SR 26 Crash With Turning SUV

A 40-year-old Newberry man was killed Monday night when the dirt bike he was riding collided with an SUV on State Road 26 in unincorporated Alachua County, according to troopers. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m., about a half-mile west of NW 266th Street, and emergency responders pronounced the rider dead at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

According to News4JAX, the dirt bike was headed east on SR 26 when it hit the right side of an SUV that was traveling west and had started to turn left into a driveway.
