Greensboro City Manager Nathaniel “Trey” Davis has appointed Kamran Afzal as the city’s next Police Chief, following a national search and interview process. Afzal will officially begin his duties on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, succeeding John Thompson, who retired earlier this year.
