Allegheny County residents can safely get rid of old paints, cleaners, and other hazardous household items at upcoming Household Chemicals Collection events hosted by the Pennsylvania Resources Council.
Events run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on:
- May 2, 2026 at North Park
- August 15, 2026 at Boyce Park
- September 19, 2026 at South Park
Pre-registration is required. Stay in your vehicle while staff unload your items. There’s a $20 fee per 10 gallons or 50 pounds, plus specific fees for items like fire extinguishers ($12) and liquid mercury ($15 per pound).
