NCSU, plaintiffs back Shirley as judge to hear Poe Hall lawsuit

North Carolina State University and plaintiffs suing the school over health problems related to Poe Hall all agree a single judge should hear the case. They have filed paperwork asking that Superior Court Judge Graham Shirley be appointed to oversee the dispute.

Shirley already oversees NCSU’s lawsuit against Monsanto related to PCBs discovered in the now-closed university building.

State Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby named Shirley to serve on the North Carolina Business Court effective March 3.
