SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota County is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the completion of phase one of The Legacy Trail Extension Bifurcated Trail, a project aimed at improving safety and accessibility for trail users.
The newly completed 1.5-mile addition includes a six-foot-wide pedestrian pathway running parallel to the Legacy Trail Extension, creating separate areas for pedestrians and cyclists in select sections.
County officials say the design is intended to reduce conflicts between users and support one of Sarasota County’s most popular amenities, which draws more than 500,000 users each year…
