Proposed South Knoxville apartment development seeks community input

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — CR Endeavors, a Birmingham-based development firm, is proposing a large apartment complex at the site of the Kerbela Shriners Temple in South Knoxville, a project that could bring more than 200 new housing units to a prominent property overlooking downtown.

The firm has not purchased the property yet, and at this time, the sale price has not been disclosed.

The plans call for between 217 and 223 apartments on the 5.70-acre site, which sits near the Tennessee River and the Gay Street Bridge. The development would include a large courtyard, pool and other amenities, with units marketed primarily to active seniors age 55 and older.
