Sun Prairie police investigate suspicious pit bull deaths

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Sun Prairie police are investigating after three dogs were found dead and a fourth severely injured in northeastern Dane County.

Police said the dogs were found over a three-month period. The dog that was found alive had to be euthanized because of how severe its injuries were. All four dogs were pit bulls or a similar breed.

The first dog, an approximately five-month-old pit bull, was found on I-39/90 south of the U.S. Highway 51 interchange on Dec. 29, 2025. She had been hit by a vehicle and had to be euthanized…
