ROCKFORD, IL — City officials are considering a new tax increment financing district in the area San Diego-based Monarch Energy is eyeing for a potential data center south of the Chicago Rockford International Airport.
But Rockford City Administrator Todd Cagnoni said the TIF District isn’t necessarily for the benefit of a potential data center, which he said haven’t sought property tax incentives in other areas of the country.
