Edwardsville man sentenced to 17 years for home invasion

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (First Alert 4) -An Edwardsville man was sentenced to 17 years in prison for a home invasion in 2021.

Tuesday, Timothy Rodgers,40, was sentenced to 17 years for the home invasion and aggravated battery of his former father-in-law on Dec. 20, 2021.

Rodgers was found guilty by a jury in October of entering the house of his ex-father-in-law in Glen Carbon and butt-heading, body-slamming the man and slamming the man’s head to the tile floor.

Prosecutors were seeking the maximum sentence of 20 years. The judge sentenced Rodger to 12 years for the home invasion and five years for the aggravated battery…
