CSPD: Man assaulted in city park with a rock

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Monday, March 30, a man was allegedly assaulted at a city park near downtown Colorado Springs.

According to CSPD, on Monday at around 2 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in progress at a city park located in the 1100 block of South Nevada Avenue. When police arrived, they found a victim with a serious but non-life-threatening injury to their head.

Police investigated, and it was determined that the victim was hit in the head with a large rock. The suspect was identified as 55-year-old Michael Howard, found on the scene, and placed in custody. Police said officers found video footage that showed the incident…
