Woman has questions after son was critically injured as police attempted to arrest him at state park

FIRESTONE, Colo. — A man who was seriously injured in a confrontation with police remained in intensive care on Tuesday after undergoing brain surgery, according to his mother.

The 25-year-old was hurt on Sunday afternoon at St. Vrain State Park in Firestone after an officer attempted to arrest him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Weld County authorities, two officers shot the man with Tasers, and he fell and hit his head.

Authorities have not released the name of the man, who has not been charged with a crime and has no previous arrest record in Colorado. 9NEWS is not naming him, and his mother also requested that she not be identified…
