The scent of dough, cheese and sauce wafts from a bubbling pizza inside a Reno slice shop, its surface dotted with pepperoni slices transformed into miniature bowls of meat after a few minutes inside a searing-hot oven.
Marvin Kinney deftly slides the large pie off his pizza peel and onto a metal tray waiting on a nearby wooden counter. Within seconds, Kinney divides the whole pie into several slices, further topping it with a generous shake of pepper flakes.
