2 arrested in Lamont after deputies find stolen copper wire

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two people were arrested in Lamont after officials allegedly found them with stolen copper wire on Saturday, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies at the Lamont Substation saw Rodrigo Garcia, 20, and Juan Cachu, 43 — both from Lamont — in the 7700 block of Buena Vista Boulevard, according to sheriff’s officials.

Garcia was allegedly riding a stolen motorcycle and pulling a suitcase containing about 100 pounds of copper wire, investigators said. He tried to flee on foot but was arrested shortly after…
