BARTOW, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Bartow Police Department have launched a joint investigation into a shooting that took place Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, near the Polk County Courthouse.
Emergency units responded to the Circle K parking lot at 310 West Main Street in Bartow after reports of gunfire were made at approximately 9:42 a.m. One individual was injured in the incident and has been transported to a nearby hospital.
Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are currently with all parties involved in the shooting, including the individual who fired the shots. Authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public…
