Righteous Love Williams of Jonesboro has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of 19-year-old Michael Paul Maddox II during an illegal gun transaction in Lawrenceville.
A Gwinnett County jury on Friday found Williams, 23, guilty of felony murder, armed robbery, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the September 2023 killing. In addition to the life sentence, he received an extra five years.
According to prosecutors, the shooting occurred on Sept. 17, 2023, when Maddox arranged to meet Williams in a Lawrenceville neighborhood cul-de-sac to trade firearms.
