Alabama lawmakers return to Montgomery for final stretch of legislative session

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — With six legislative days remaining, Alabama lawmakers are heading back to Montgomery for what they expect to be a fast-paced and high-stakes finish to the session.

Twenty bills are on the House calendar, with several key proposals — particularly in education and healthcare — drawing attention from both sides of the aisle.

House Bill 584 to limit screen time in classrooms and would set clearer guidelines for how technology can be used in the classroom.
