Flames shoot from car on I-40 in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A car went up in flames Wednesday morning on Interstate 40 in Nashville, creating a striking scene and traffic delays.

Tennessee Department of Transportation cameras showed vehicles swerving past a sedan entirely consumed by flames reaching at least 10 feet in the air.

The fire was reported in the left westbound lane at about 6:50 a.m. near Fesslers Lane and mile marker 211.2, per TDOT’s SmartWay map…
