Elderly woman drives into Pensacola Gulf Winds, seriously injures man

Florida Highway Patrol cited an 81-year-old Pensacola woman March 30 after she drove through the front of a Gulf Winds Credit Union and seriously injured an individual.

FHP troopers were called to the Gulf Winds Credit Union on Creighton Road where they found a woman driving a sedan had attempted to park, but instead drove through the front of the building and injured a 37-year-old man.

“While attempting to park, the driver pressed on the accelerator instead of the brake, resulting in the vehicle to collide with the front of the building and the pedestrian walking in,” an FHP report said. “The driver suffered no injuries from the collision and was cited for careless driving.”…
