Report: More than 41% of children in Gadsden County live in poverty, highest in Florida

More than 41% of children in Gadsden County live in poverty, the highest childhood poverty rate in Florida, according to a new report that also shows statewide childhood poverty is declining.

The Florida Chamber of Commerce report found childhood poverty is dropping across Florida, with nearly 3,200 fewer children living in poverty than a year ago. Even so, the report found the number of children living in poverty increased in 34 of Floridaโ€™s 67 counties.
