Family disappointed after grand jury declines vehicular homicide charge in fatal St. Gabriel crash

ST. GABRIEL, La. (WAFB) – Nearly a year after Katina Perck Leggion was killed in a crash on a highway in St. Gabriel, her family says they are disappointed a grand jury declined to indict the truck driver on a vehicular homicide charge.

Investigators said Leggion was a passenger on a motorcycle that had stalled in the righ turn lane. She got off of the motorcycle in the roadway and was hit by a GMC truck shortly after.

Both the driver of the motorcycle, Troy Johnson, and the truck driver, Sean Alteri, were arrested and charged with DWI. Alteri was also charged with vehicular homicide, but a grand jury only indicted him for drunk driving…
