College Community School Board approves teaching staff reductions

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The College Community School Board voted to approve teaching staff reductions for the next school year.

The school board said declining enrollment is creating budget concerns. The board voted to cut one Alternative Kindergarten position, plus two kindergarten and two first grade spots.

District leaders said those teachers will not lose their jobs, but will be transferred within the district to fill positions left open from retirements or resignations…
