YouTuber’s Fort Bend arrest at emergency scene violated his First Amendment rights, judge rules

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office violated a local YouTuber’s First Amendment rights when they arrested him while he shot video at an emergency scene, a federal district judge ruled last week.

YouTuber Justin Pulliam was awarded $75,000 in compensatory damages.

A sheriff’s office lieutenant arrested Pulliam in December 2021 while he was filming along the edge of a property where an armed man was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to court documents.
