The Will County Planning and Zoning Commission held packed public hearings Monday night, and again last night, at the Renaissance Center in Joliet to hear what the public had to say about solar farms proposed for Will County.
A company called Earthrise Energy has set the groundwork for solar farms, including “Pride of the Prairie,” a giant 61-hundred acre solar farm around Manhattan and Wilton Township; and “Plum Valley Solar,” a 24-hundred acre solar farm near Crete, Monee, and Washington Township.
After listening to hours of testimony from the public – those for the proposal, and those against the proposal – the Will County Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-2 against the solar farms…
