Severe weather and storms through Saturday morning

Today, we turn the page to a new month and shift our weather pattern. Multiple rounds of storms are expected today through Saturday morning. Severe weather is possible at times each day as well, but we’re especially watching tonight and Friday night.

Rain and storms today will mainly be found near and north of Highway 60. While severe weather isn’t explicitly expected, a storm or two could bring small hail, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall.

Tonight, storms are likely north of I-44 beginning around 8 PM. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, posing a risk for isolated wind and hail. The tornado risk with storms tonight is very low, but not zero.

Leftover rain may linger Thursday morning before we catch a lull around the midday hour tomorrow. The remnants from storms on Thursday morning may spring back to life in the afternoon east of Highway 65. While only a storm or two is possible, they could produce large hail, damaging winds, and even a low tornado risk.

Things quiet down Thursday evening and Friday before another round of thunderstorms develops Friday night.

The last wave of storms of the week will set up to the west by Friday evening, spreading across the Ozarks Friday night into Saturday morning. Some severe weather is possible along with heavy rainfall. Temperatures will also turn sharply colder Saturday morning as the front clears the area.

Temperatures will tumble into the 40s Saturday morning. There will be a little recovery Saturday afternoon as clouds thin and temperatures climb back into the 50s. Chilly weather will stick around through Easter Sunday. Easter is shaping up to be clear with morning lows in the 30s and afternoon highs in the 50s…
