Barksdale fact-checks drone coverage

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. (KSLA) – This morning, March 31, Barksdale Air Force Base (BAFB) released a statement regarding several slight, inadvertent inaccuracies in local and national reporting on the multiple drones that entered the base’s airspace the week of March 9.

BAFB’s Statement:

“To clear up inaccurate and incomplete reporting, beginning Monday, March 9, Barksdale AFB experienced several unauthorized drone incursions that varied in duration and number of drones. Out of an abundance of caution in response to the initial event, Barksdale base leadership issued a Shelter in Place order for the morning of March 9 that was lifted that same morning. Operations from Barksdale AFB continue unabated and the incident remains under an active federal investigation.
