A romance bookstore and hair salon combo? Of course! The brainchild of Shelby, a hairdresser, and Bree, a candlemaker, has launched in Boulder City. Located at 501 Nevada Way, Suite 2, the shop boasts a cool, elegant gothic vibe with lots of black furnishings, ceiling covers, with candles and skulls peeking from bookcases stocked with some of your favorite indie authors. The attention to detail is one of the things that stands out when you first walk thru the door of the shop.
Bree first met Shelby when Shelby began doing her hair. Over many of those chairside chats, the two businesswomen came up with the idea for a boutique and salon. Both are avid readers, in the romance genre. The books, much like the store, have a dark, edgy side that is very appealing to those for whom the common syrupy romance novel just won’t do.
Shelby has been styling hair for almost twenty years and her clientele includes women, men, and children (including those with special needs).
