LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 25-year old rock climber was released from the hospital after recovering from a head injury sustained in a freak accident on March 28, according to his friends.
Will Campbell was rock climbing near the Calico Basin in the Red Rock Canyon, capping off a week-long annual trip with his friends, when his foot got stuck in his rope, flipping him upside down and slamming his head against the rock, his friend Tomas Doell told 8 News Now.
“It was traumatizing for everybody involved in the situation,” Doell said.
Because Campbell is a foreign traveler, he uses traveler’s insurance. But according to Doell, it does not cover the accident. Doell and his friends have since started a GoFundMe to help Campbell as his medical bills pile up…
