EUGENE, Ore. – Moving companies and local government agencies across Oregon are grappling with rising fuel costs, with no clear timeline for relief in sight.
Pro Movers, which has locations throughout the West Coast, has already started transitioning to electric moving trucks at one of its California locations. The company is now looking to bring that same fleet to Oregon to combat rising fuel expenses.
“We’ve already started an electric fleet out at one of our locations in California, and we’re trying to get that worked out to where we’re sending electric trucks up here now just to battle the cost of that,” said John Rose, general manager and part owner of Pro Movers. “And tire tax and other things we’re considering, you know, worried about coming out here in Oregon. It’s just a lot of expenses for someone that’s on the road every day.”…
