ST. LOUIS (WKRC) – Two women were accused of making up a missing child who does not exist while attempting to recover their stolen vehicle, prompting a useless Amber Alert.
According to police reports obtained by First Alert 4, police were contacted sometime after 8 a.m. on March 30 regarding a missing 5-year-old child who had been left in a 2020 Jeep Renegade while it was running. The caller claimed the Renegade had been stolen with the child still inside.
Authorities discovered the stolen vehicle roughly a mile away from where it was last seen, but there was no child inside, the outlet reported. Authorities reportedly searched the area with K9 units, drones, and helicopters, eventually issuing an Amber Alert…
