Two teenagers who killed 16-year-old at Double Churches Park get different sentences

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) Two Columbus criminal street gang members convicted in the 2023 murder of 16-year-old Dayton Willis at Double Churches Park got different sentences Wednesday afternoon in Superior Court.

Andrew Crowell and Akiareon Reed, both teenagers when they shot Dayton Willis to death on his 16th birthday, were given life in prison sentences.

The difference was Reed, who was only 15 at the time of the murder, could be eligible for parole after serving 30 years. Crowell, 19 at the time of the murder and the triggerman, received life in prison without the possibility of parole from Judge Bobby Peters…
