Kailey Tyler a Mercyhurst University student has been named as a 2026 Barry Goldwater Scholar. This achievement is one of the most prestigious awards an undergraduate can receive in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering field.
Tyler is currently a senior in the Applied Forensic Science program at Mercyhurst University. She regularly conducts research in microbiology with Dr. Raj Mohan and is the first Mercyhurst student to receive such an achievement. This competitive scholarship recognizes the potential for a research career from students who showcase outstanding academic achievement.
