(KRON) — A San Mateo family is asking the public for donations after a weekend crash placed their father named Ramon in an intensive care unit and injured two younger siblings, ages 8 and 16, who are now recovering at home.
The three pedestrian victims were struck by a vehicle around 7:36 p.m. as they were crossing the intersection of N Delaware and State streets, according to San Mateo police.
A GoFundMe page created by the family to help cover expenses, including hospital bills and legal fees, said the injured father is “expected to face a very long and difficult road to recovery” after already undergoing one surgery. He is set to undergo more medical procedures, while one of the juveniles sustained a fractured skull in the collision.
“This tragedy has left my siblings and I overwhelmed emotionally and financially. We are asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time,” the GoFundMe reads. “No family should have to go through something like this. We are holding onto hope and doing everything we can to get through each day together.”…
