Grissom High School student taken into custody after gun found in car, principal says

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Grissom High School student was taken into custody on Wednesday after a gun was found inside their car, school leaders said.

The school said it received a tip, leading administrators and law enforcement to search the student’s car. A gun was found inside, and the student was subsequently taken into custody.

“At no time was there a disruption to the school day, and this situation was handled quickly and in accordance with established safety protocols,” said principal David Coker. “The student involved will face serious disciplinary consequences and will not be returning to Grissom High School.”
