TAMPA, Florida — Four members of the Tampa Police Department have been promoted to new command-level positions, according to Chief Lee Bercaw.
The promotions include two Deputy Chiefs and two Majors, marking a significant step forward for the department, stated Chief Bercaw. “These leaders bring diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives, yet they are united by the singular vision of ensuring a safe Tampa for all,” he said. Assistant Chief Brett Owen will now oversee the newly promoted Deputy Chief positions, guiding the Deputy Chief of Operations and Deputy Chief of Investigations & Support.
Eric DeFelice has been promoted to Deputy Chief of Investigations & Support. DeFelice, who began his career with the Tampa Police Department in 2005, previously served as the Major of Criminal Investigations. His career includes roles such as patrol officer, detective, and Captain of Sector C.
