Orange Grove officials suggest groundwater pumping is affecting water

Officials in a small community reliant on groundwater have seen lowering water levels and diminishing water quality that coincide with “recent large-scale groundwater pumping in rural Nueces County,” according to a news release issued March 30.

The changes referenced in the news release were seen around the time that the city of Corpus Christi had launched operations on its Western Well Field, according to city of Orange Grove officials.
