AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Region 16 hosted the second Regional Spanish Spelling Bee on Tuesday.
According to officials with Region 16, the spelling bee welcomed 40 elementary and secondary students to the Region 16 Bell Street Campus at 9 a.m. The winners of the spelling bee included:

- 4-5th grade band:
- 1st Place: Constanza Perez – Humphrey’s Highland Elementary – Amarillo ISD
- 2nd Place: Brayan Martinez – Williams Intermediate – Perryton ISD
- 3rd Place – Yatzry Rodriguez – Forest HIll Elementary – Amarillo ISD
- 6-8th grade band:
- 1st Place: Yuli Vazquez Rodriguez – Perryton Junior High
- 2nd Place: Joanna Lara – Borger Middle School
- 3rd Place: Emili Chavez Marin – Dimmitt Middle School
