Woman paralyzed after Lafayette scooter crash speaks from hospital

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) β€” A Lafayette woman is speaking out exclusively to News 15 from her hospital bed nearly a month after a crash left her permanently paralyzed.

Julie Steed was riding a motorized scooter when she was hit from behind on Pinhook Road on the night of March 4. After being knocked to the ground, she was run over by two other vehicles.

“I’m still adjusting. Wrapping my head around that. I lived my whole life with being functional, for the most part, to being crippled,” Steed said…
