OZARK, Mo. — The City of Ozark announced Wednesday that the Chadwick Flyer Bridge over U.S. 65 is now open.
The Chadwick Flyer Bridge creates a pedestrian overpass over Highway 65 between Route CC and Highway 14. It will connect to the Chadwick Flyer Trail, which spans 12 miles between Ozark and Springfield.
The bridge opens with temporary safety measures, such as fencing approved by MoDOT engineers, that will be in place until the final elements of the bridge are completed. The city says components such as angled panels and permanent railing will be installed in the next few weeks.
“We’re excited to open the Chadwick Flyer Bridge and welcome the community onto thislong-anticipated connection,” said Ozark Mayor Don Currence in a statement. “This project is about more than a bridge — it’s about creating safer routes, encouraging outdoor recreationand continuing to invest in the quality of life in Ozark for our citizens.”…
