DC Health to use rat birth control to address rodent population

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C.’s Department of Health (DOH) is launching a new pilot program to reduce the rat population, in part through birth control.

“You have said we need a more effective strategy, and so we have come up with a new strategy,” said Dr. Ayanna Bennett, Director of the Health Department.

According to Bennett, the program will launch this spring and target Adams Morgan first.
