BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Shafter is looking to buy and upfit three new police patrol vehicles to better respond to the city’s growing needs for traffic enforcement, according to the Shafter City Council agenda for Tuesday.
The model would be Ford F-150 patrol responder trucks. If approved, these would replace older units currently in service, according to the agenda.

Those vehicles would also be equipped with emergency response equipment, which includes emergency lighting, communication systems, safety equipment and department graphics, the agenda said.
The three patrol vehicles would cost $161,096.34. The upfitting would cost $135,685.98 for a total of $296,782.32, according to officials…
