AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A driver who struck and killed an 84-year-old woman outside a Northfield church in 2024, then left the scene, was sentenced Thursday morning at the Summit County Common Pleas Court.
Joseph Zolnowski, 36, of Parma, was sentenced to 90 days home incarceration with the possibility of 36 months in prison if he failed to comply on a third-degree felony count of failure to stop after an accident.

The judge in the case, Judge Christine Croce, also sentenced him to 3 years probation and his driver’s license was suspended for a year.
He pleaded guilty to the felony charge on Tuesday, March 10, after being indicted in January 2025.
