La Vergne Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire on Cheryl Lane, where crews arrived within approximately two minutes and quickly stopped the fire before it could spread further into the home.
The Tuesday afternoon fire involved an exterior storage container and extended to the home’s vinyl siding. Firefighters placed water on the fire within seconds of arrival, limiting damage to the exterior of the residence. At this time, the fire does not appear to have breached the exterior wall into the interior of the home, though crews remained on scene to check for hot spots and monitor conditions using thermal imaging equipment.
Fire personnel noted there was a light haze in the garage, but preliminary assessment indicated the fire had been contained before causing more significant damage…
