BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Fire crews responded Wednesday night to a residential structure fire on Pecks Road near the Huddleston area of Bedford County, according to Bedford County Fire Rescue (BCoFR).
The call came in around 11:57 p.m. on April 1; Company 1 with Wagon 1 and Tanker 1 were dispatched to the 2600 Pecks Road, where Company 7 (Huddleston) was first due.
BCoFR Medic 14-8 arrived first alongside Assistant Chief 7 and found a single-story home with fire showing from three sides. Three minutes later, Wagon 1 arrived and crews initiated a fire attack, according to BCoFR.
One hose line was positioned on the delta side in a defensive position, while a second line was brought to the back of the home. Crews with BCoFR entered through the Charlie side to attack the fire and search what BCoFR says was the only tenable space remaining.
